20+ spaces below ground in the garage, 2 of which are for handicapped with an adjacent elevator.

2 temporary handicap spaces at street level just inside the driveway entrance.

Natural Agriculture Leaders and Speakers


Dr. Diana Jerkins, PhD - Horticulture   
MC for NAC 2016

For over thirty years, Dr. Diana Jerkins has worked in the area of sustainable agriculture - teaching, conducting research, and managing research funding at several universities and with the federal government.  Her areas of expertise include food production systems, natural resource use, ecosystem services, and small to medium sized farming systems.  She consults internationally on sustainable agriculture issues, including organic and Natural Agriculture practices.  

Diana is a member of numerous professional societies, including the Agronomy, Crop, and Soil Science Societies and Ecological Society of America.  Her latest book, 'Spirit of the Land: Shumei Natural Agriculture in Philosophy and Practice' is a product of her many visits to Japan as an invited guest to study Natural Agriculture farms throughout the islands of Japan.  

 

Sensei Alan A. Imai   
Director of Natural Agriculture Operations Worldwide

After graduating from studies in agriculture at Shimane University in Japan, "Alan" Sensei joined the Shumei organization in 1976.  He was naturally attracted to, and excelled at, the Natural Agriculture philosophy which Mokichi Okada, founder of Shumei, advocated.

Alan previously served as the International Coordinator in Shumei’s partnership with The Rodale Institute, The Center for Regenerative Studies, and the College of Agriculture at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.  He now co-ordinates Shumei Natural Agriculture projects around the world, including communities in Zambia, Turkey, Brazil and the Philippines.  He is currently serving as Executive Director of the Shumei International Institute, and is the Co-director of Shumei International’s Natural Agriculture programs.

 

                                                           

Roy Gibbon  
Shumei America Media and Education Departments, Author

Roy Gibbon joined Shumei in November of 1993. He currently works in the Educational Department at Shumei America's National Center in Pasadena, California, and is the co-author with Atsushi Fujimaki of the book "An Offering of Light: Healing with Jyorei, Natural Agriculture, and Art."
